Person Area Transportation System (PATS) is a public transportation service that operates as a branch of the Person County Government. PATS provides transportation for various human services agencies, the elderly, people with disabilities, and the general public of Person County to anywhere in Person County for a fee.

Our mission is to provide safe, friendly, and reliable transportation to the citizens and visitors of Person County, utilizing the most efficient manner possible to increase mobility and support a livable community. 

Our vision is to continuously provide accessible transportation opportunities to meet the needs of the citizens and visitors of Person County. 

Transportation Options

PATS DOES NOT PROVIDE SAME DAY SERVICE

Demand (curb-to-curb pickup) operates Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Ride requests must be made before 11:00 am the business day before the requested ride date. It is recommended to book your ride as early as possible. PATS may reach full capacity before the 11:00 am cut-off time. 

The Out-of-County medical appointment route operates Monday-Thursday. It travels to Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough & Prospect Hill. Medical appointments at those facilities need to start before 11:00 am. Riders must finish their appointments by Noon. The bus will leave Roxboro around 6:00 am each day and begin the return trip to Roxboro by Noon. For more information, please refer to the Fares Page

The Roxboro Shuttle operates Monday-Friday from 7:45 am - 5:00 pm. For more information about the Roxboro Shuttle, please reference the Roxboro Shuttle Page.
