Summer Camp applications will be available April 13th.
Rules for Summer Camp
Requirements for Summer Camp: you must be a resident of Person County.
In order to serve your children, please provide the date from above that would best fit for your child.
Rising 6th graders to rising 9th graders (you must be under 16 years old)
Summer Camp Hours Monday- Friday from 7:45-5:00.
You will be notified by mail of your child’s camp date.
If for some reason, your child cannot attend on the scheduled week please contact Sgt. Mark Sharlow at (336) 583-6614.
This is a first come first serve basis, so please get your application returned to the Person County Sheriff’s Office:

ON-SITE RULES:
- While in the summer camp the student will be required to treat themselves, staff members, and the other students with respect.
- When engaging in the center activities, the student will participate in a positive and sharing manner and not use profanity or behave in a disruptive manner.
- When using the summer camps facilities or any equipment, care will be taken so that nothing is damaged or destroyed. Any and all damages will be reported to the staff immediately.
- Any injury to anyone will be reported immediately.
- At all times, students will follow the directions of the staff officers.
- Fighting will NOT be tolerated. Do not put your hands on anyone.
- No drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, gang related clothing or paraphernalia or weapons will be tolerated.
- If you make a mess, clean it up.
- There will be no loitering by non-campers.
- Failure to follow said rules may result in termination from the summer camp.
- No electronic devices, cell phones, or any kind of games. Cell phones will not pick up inside the building so it’s no need to bring them. (There is a phone if needed)
- No Flip-flops sandals or open toed shoes (tennis-shoes only)
- We will be going off campus on several days and if for some reason you need to be picked up at the off-campus site, prior arrangements by you need to be made and camp supervisor must be notified.
TRANSPORTATION RULES
- When any student is transported off campus by bus the student shall obey rules of staff instructors and shall follow directions at all times
- Disruptive behavior on the bus will not be tolerated.
- Unless stated, no food or drinks will be allowed on the bus.
- Respect the property that you are riding on; if you damage any property you will be responsible.
- Once we are at the destination, you will remain with your camp leader and follow all instructions.
- All students will treat themselves and other students with respect.
We will be going to several locations throughout the week of camp; each student will follow all rules at such locations for safety reasons.
NOTE:
This camp is for you. We want you to have fun while at camp and while learning. Sheriff’s deputies will teach all classes and/ or activities.
Lunch will be provided each day, along with a snack if wanted. Student will fill out the lunch menu once they get to camp. Monday will be Hotdogs. Students can bring a lunch.
All students are encouraged to leave all belongings at home; they will not need anything with them. This is for security reasons and we don’t want anyone to have anything stolen. Do not need bring phones, purses, electronic devices, bags or any other items.
Lockers WILL NOT be provided.
Students will be assigned to an officer and shall remain in that group.
Students will get an agenda on the first day of camp. The agenda will have a schedule for each day. Take note of schedule on times of returning to campus.
Your child/children will not be released; you must come inside to check them out.
