Types of scholarships available:

 Aaron Long Youth Scholarship Fund

The Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Department would like to thank the family of Aaron Long for assisting with establishing the Aaron Long Youth Scholarship Fund in his honor. Aaron was a long-time employee with the department from 2002-2018, and he created many fond memories working with the County. 

Through this scholarship fund in his honor, Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Department will be offering scholarships to families who may not otherwise be able to participate in our programs.  If you would like to donate to this fund you can in person, mail a check to 425 Long Avenue, Roxboro 27573 or online using the link below.

                                                                             Kiwanis scholarship

This is a scholarship that is usable for two programs in a budget year per child. It is 10.00 off of the activity fee.

                                                      Aaron Long Scholarship and JCPC Scholarship

This scholarship is a first come first serve program for youth to participate in sports, recreation and cultural arts programming. This is for two programs annually with maximum benefit of $65 per program. Funds are limited. 

Scholarship applications are available at the administrative office at 303 South Morgan Street, Roxboro, NC 27573.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying for one of our scholarship opportunities please take the following steps.

- Come to office to pick up application and take form with you to Social Services.

-Explain to Social Services that you are applying for a scholarship with Parks and Recreation.

-Social Services will fill out the form for the scholarship.

-Bring the form back to Parks and Recreation to process the scholarship and registration.
