The Kirby Cultural Arts Complex is supported by a partnership between Person County Recreation Arts & Parks Department, Piedmont Community College and the Person County Arts Council. Housed in the KCAC is a performing arts theater, two art galleries, classrooms, rental/event spaces and the Kirby Learning Studios.
Located on Main Street in Uptown Roxboro, the KCAC's theater has large scale seating and a grand interior featuring tremendous hand painted murals. Patrons are visually dazzled even before the show begins!
Once a thriving movie palace, the Kirby became a performing arts center after being purchased by Person County Government in 1974. The Kirby has hosted such names as Branford Marsalis, The Count Basie Orchestra and many more great artists!
The Kirby and Upper Galleries are the Person County sponsored art galleries that feature new exhibits of local and/or regional artists of all disciplines.
The Kirby Learning Studios houses a walk-in ceramic and craft studio!
There are arts camps, classes, theatrical productions, music lessons and more for the community to get involved in!
