Innovations is a Medicaid-funded program that helps individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) to build independence and participate more fully in their communities. Person Industries provides individualized support through one-on-one or small-group services, helping participants develop skills, achieve personal goals, and engage in vocational and community activities.

In the Innovations program, individuals work on prevocational skills such as:

  • Attention to task
  • Communication skills
  • Motor skills
  • Safety skills

Staff provide coaching and counseling to develop:

  • Coping techniques
  • Healthy interpersonal relationships
  • Community safety awareness
  • Opportunities for leisure exploration
  • Self-care skills

Innovations services take place in the community and at Person Industries. Individuals are assigned a care coordinator through Vaya Health to provide information, monitor services, and coordinate services in their community to most benefit the consumer’s goals.
