Commitment to Safety:
Person County is committed to the safety and welfare of all employees. All County employees are responsible for promoting accident prevention by actively supporting the safety policy and observing the safety regulations. The Person County Safety Committee supports this by promoting safety awareness, maintaining policies, and ensuring compliance with regulations to protect employees and the public.
The Safety Committee will:
- Develop and implement county safety policies
- Determine goals/objectives of safety programs
- Promote employee safety communication
- Increase employee safety awareness
- Ensure safety activities are completed
- Keep up with governmental regulations
The Safety Committee will report to the County Manager. The Human Resources & Risk Manager will be the permanent chairperson of the Committee. Membership will be from departments selected by County Management.
Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace:
Person County is committed to maintaining a drug-and alcohol-free workplace to protect the safety of employees and the public and ensure effective operations. The County supports employees who need help through rehabilitation resources and an Employee Assistance Program. The County Manager has the authority to establish, administer, and enforce substance abuse processes and procedures within the County.
