Dates and Deadlines

Here are voter dates and deadlines for the 2026 general election in the Person County:

• June 06, 2026: Candidate filing begins for Soil and Water Conservation contest at 12 noon
• July 06, 2025: Candidate filing ends for Soil and Water Conservation contest at 5 p.m.
• Oct. 09, 2026: Voter registration deadline (5 p.m.) *
• Oct. 15, 2026: In-person early voting begins; same-day registration available
• Oct. 20, 2026: Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.) *
• Oct. 31, 2026: In-person early voting ends (3 p.m.)
• Nov. 02, 2026: UOCAVA Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.)
• November 03, 2026: General Election Day & Absentee ballot return deadline, UOCAVA electronic & civilian (7:30 p.m.)
• Nov. 06, 2026: Deadline to return provisional documents & Absentee voters to return cure documents (12 noon) *

*Voter registration and absentee voting deadlines are different for military and overseas citizen voters.
