Dates and Deadlines

Here are voter dates and deadlines for the 2026 primary election in the Person County:

• Dec. 01, 2025: Candidate filing begins at 12 noon
• Dec. 19, 2025: Candidate filing ends at 12 noon
• Feb. 06, 2026: Voter registration deadline (5 p.m.) *
• Feb. 12, 2026: In-person early voting begins; same-day registration available
• Fe. 17, 2026: Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.) *
• Feb. 28, 2026: In-person early voting ends (3 p.m.)
• Mar. 02, 2026: UOCAVA Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.)
• March 03, 2026: Primary Election Day & Absentee ballot return deadline, UOCAVA electronic & civilian (7:30 p.m.)
• Mar. 06, 2026: Deadline to return provisional documents & Absentee voters to return cure documents (12 noon) *

*Voter registration and absentee voting deadlines are different for military and overseas citizen voters.
