Effective at 8 a.m. today, open burning restrictions previously implemented by the N.C. Forest Service and Person County Fire Marshal’s Office have been rescinded. Due to recent precipitation, fire danger has decreased.

Person County Burn Ban Expands Statewide Ban

Effective immediately, Person County prohibits all open burning across the unincorporated areas of Person County, including within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling. The ban applies to all open burning regardless of whether a permit was issued.
