On August 4, 2026, members of the Person County Economic Development Commission and Person County Economic Development staff visited CertainTeed to learn about their manufacturing operations, plans for growth, and their needs to continue operations and expand in Person County.  CertainTeed’s plant manager, Marcin Stermolewski, along with upper management staff, provided an informative overview of the history of CertainTeed in Person County, their manufacturing processes for producing drywall, and their needs and challenges looking into the future. 

CertainTeed established operations in Person County in 2012.  A subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, CertainTeed Roxboro produces high quality gypsum drywall that is used in commercial and residential construction throughout the Southeastern United States. 

CertainTeed, with a current employee headcount of 69 and operating two production shifts, plans to add a third production shift in the very near future and add approximately 17 new positions.  With plans for growth and continued investment in Person County, CertainTeed is currently hiring across all departments at the Semora/Roxboro facility.
