Person County Government Recognized with 2025 Cigna Healthy Workforce DesignationTM
Cigna Healthcare® has selected Person County Government as a recipient of their 2025 silver level Healthy Workforce Designation for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the health and vitality of its employees through a workplace well-being program.
For fiscal year 2025, Person County Government offered numerous wellness programs for employees, including Lunch & Learn Cooking Demonstrations, a Wellness & Safety Fair, a Gym Membership Drive, an Ergonomic Equipment Program, Employee Wellness Challenges, and speakers and training sessions on mental health, financial health, CPR, and Self-Defense.
“We understand the important role employee well-being plays in an organization’s success and how healthy employees contribute to a more productive workforce,” said Sonya Carver, Human Resources Director for Person County Government. “Our five-member team in Human Resources focuses on serving all employees so they can, in turn, best serve the residents, businesses and visitors in our community.”
The Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation evaluates organizations based on the core components of their well-being programs, including workforce insights, strategy and culture, health equity and social determinants of health, dimensions of vitality, and engagement and experience. Cigna Healthcare’s selection of Person County Government with the silver level designation reinforces the County’s efforts and progress in 2025 toward nurturing a healthy work culture.
