The Person County Civics Academy is a nine-week public information and community engagement program designed to offer County residents and business owners a chance to learn more about the functions of County government, understand the services provided to the community, and discover how residents and business owners can get more involved in county government and its activities.
The Spring 2026 Session will open with an Orientation on March 5 at 6 p.m., followed by eight consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6 - 9 p.m. Session topics include:
- General Government Overview
- County Government Services
- Culture & Recreation
- Economic & Community Development
- Environment & Transportation
- Human Services
- Public Health & Cooperative Extension
- Public Safety
Participants must live or work in Person County and be at least 18 years of age. Each Academy session is limited to 15 participants. There is no charge for this program.
