Person County Government issued a Declaration of Emergency due to the impending Hurricane as of noon on Tuesday, 9/11/18. 

The Joint City & County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will begin operating tomorrow, Thursday at 10:00am.  The EOC will remain open as the storm and our community’s needs dictate. We will be monitoring progress and projections for Hurricane Florence to determine the need for additional and future resources and needs. 

Our emergency shelter is set-up and ready to operate at Clement Baptist Church (8480 Burlington Rd, Hurdle Mills, 27541) but will remain closed until shelter operations become necessary at which point, public information will be sent out.
