CHANGE IN OPERATIONS NOTIFICATION
Upon the directive of our local Board of County Commissioners, Person County Health Department is undergoing a time of transition and assessment. We would like to thank the community for its patience and support. Please be assured that the health and safety of our citizens remains our priority. Our unwavering mission is to promote, protect, and nurture the health of our community. In efforts to do this, we continue to offer immunizations, communicable disease services, care management for pregnant women and children under 5, community education programs, a diabetes prevention program, environmental health services, vital records, emergency preparedness, and the WIC program, which includes a breastfeeding peer counseling program.
To assure state mandated services relative to family planning, maternal health, and sexually transmitted diseases, we are working with other medical providers both within and outside of the county. Resources are being sought to assist patients who have transportation challenges, especially those who will now need to travel out of the county for services.
In the coming weeks and months ahead, Person County Health Department will be able to provide more information about changes to local public health services and programs. Please feel free to reach out to us at 336-597-2204 or http://health.personcountync.gov (Public Comment link) with questions or comments.
